MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Dearest Family and Friends,

Ho, Ho, Ho---we’re back in the snow! After three glorious, mostly balmy years in Texas--- that have changed our lives forever--- we are adjusting to a very cold, white Christmas here in Utah. It’s wonderful to be back with family, friends and loved ones ---( especially those cute grandchildren). And we’ve so enjoyed visiting with, attending weddings and receptions for, and taking part in baby blessings of our incredible expanded family of returned Texas Fort Worth missionaries. We will be eternally grateful for those friendships we made while in Texas these past few years. We are totally TEXAFIED and proud of it!!

Here’s a quick update on our family.

Kristin, Greg and Madi--- The year started off in perfect form with the arrival of our sweet Madilyn Kaye (Madi ) Montgomery. For those who don’t remember---our daughters married brothers and they had their babies 6 weeks apart. ( That’s one transfer apart for those of you still on missionary time). Madi is already starting to talk and sing and ohh those beautiful blue eyes with the longest eye lashes you’ve ever seen---what a beauty! She will celebrate her first birthday January 13th. Her Mommy and Daddy could not be prouder and are loving the roller coaster ride of being new parents. Up next… a new house!

Denny is still the most eligible bachelor in Utah. He owns a beautiful home in the Alpine-Lehi area where he currently serves as Elders Quorum President in his singles ward. He continues to stay active in sports and for the second year was an assistant football coach at his old high school alma mater –Brighton. In addition to running the day to day operations of one of his Dad’s businesses, he’s fast becoming a successful investor. And when ever time permits you’ll find him spending time with his new niece and nephew.

Camee, Matt and Ty just purchased a new home in Boise ( Eagle), Idaho where Matt is attending Boise State. We celebrated Matthew Ty Montgomery’s first birthday on December 2nd. complete with a very cool Baby Einstein cake courtesy of his Uncle Scott. He took his first steps Dec 20th and shows off those adorable dimples and baby blue eyes with every glance. Camee and Matt spent the summer working in the Washington D.C. area where they enjoyed a successful 4 month adventure. Camee stopped teaching 2nd grade to be a full time mom. This little trio couldn’t be better!!

Elder (McKay) Crockett will be returning home January 6th from his missionary service in the Chile Vina del Mar Mission. He has had a wonderful experience as he has shared his testimony and worked so diligently with the people of Chile. His weekly letters are an inspiration--- Paul-like epistles--- and you can just feel the tremendous growth that has taken place in his life. We’re now excited to get him home in time to attend winter semester at BYU where he will continue his undergraduate work as a Music Media Major. Actually the first day of classes is the day after he returns. (Is that nuts or what?!!?) 2008 promises to be an eventful and productive year for the one and only McKay!

Cortnee is truly amazing. She made the adjustment back to Utah without missing a beat. However she is constantly in touch with her treasured Texas friends ( … you should see her and Katie text message?!). After a successful three years at Colleyville Heritage HS in Texas, Cortnee is now finishing her senior year back here at Brighton HS. She made the Varsity soccer team this year where they had a super season going 12-2 and she was awarded the “Most Inspirational Player” by her coaches. She serves in the Laurel class presidency of our ward as well as Ward Sacrament Meeting Chorister. She’s applied to several colleges and we are waiting to hear which campus will be “graced with her presence” next year. She continues to bring sunshine and laughter to all. The world is a better place because of Cort.

Grandma and Grandpa Crockett are slowly but surely making the transition back to “civilian life”. Oh how we loved serving the Lord, those precious missionaries and the incredible people of Texas. We feel so honored to have been extended that sweet blessing. We gratefully now take that indescribable experience and resume our life with a greater desire than ever to be faithful in all things. So at this special time of year, as we reflect on the Birth of the Savior, let us also be grateful for His perfect Life, His wonderful Atonement and His miraculous Resurrection. May our gift this Christmas be one of giving Him our all, even as He has given us His.

We send our love and wishes for a memorable and sacred Christmas celebration. And may you find peace, health and happiness throughout the coming year!

Love , The Crockett’s

Denny Sr., Teri, Cortnee
(Elder McKay is excused …for a few more weeks!)
